Location: Indianapolis, IN
Contract Rate: $80–$95 per hour
Full-Time Conversion Target: $100K Annually


Position Summary

Stratosphere Quality is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Quality Manager to lead quality operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position begins as a contract role with a strong pathway to permanent hire based on performance. The right candidate thrives on the production floor, supporting operators, driving quality systems, and leading continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for someone who excels in metals-based manufacturing environments. Experience in plating or finishing processes is a plus, but not required.

Essential Job Function

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day quality operations and team guidance

  • Maintain and enhance ISO-based quality systems and documentation

  • Conduct and lead root-cause investigations and corrective action plans

  • Monitor product and process quality using SPC and other quality tools

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve process capability

  • Support customer and supplier quality interactions, audits, and reporting

  • Coach and mentor quality staff to build a strong quality culture

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of quality experience in manufacturing

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO quality systems

  • Proven success leading floor-level quality initiatives and problem-solving efforts

  • Experience with CAPA, 8D, RCA, control plans, and SPC

Preferred

  • Metals processing/manufacturing background

  • Plating/coating exposure (bonus, not required)

  • Six Sigma or continuous improvement training/certification

Work Environment

  • On-site position in Indianapolis, IN

  • Regular active presence on the production floor
