Position Summary

Stratosphere Quality is seeking a Launch Quality Engineer (QE) to support a long-term program launch in Holland, Michigan.
This contract role (1.5–2 years) will play a critical part in managing supplier PPAPs, developing quality standards, and supporting the launch containment process to ensure a flawless execution of the product launch scheduled for Summer/Fall 2027.

Essential Job Function

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities for approximately 120 new tools (majority injection mold, some die-cast).

  • Partner with internal and supplier quality teams to establish quality criteria, specifications, and inspection standards.

  • Plan, execute, and analyze launch containment inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks.

  • Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with customer and industry quality requirements.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier and internal non-conformances.

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure supplier readiness and on-time delivery of PPAP submissions.

  • Maintain detailed records and communication throughout all launch phases.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with suppliers, design, manufacturing, and project leadership teams.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in automotive, furniture, or manufacturing environments.

  • Strong working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and control plans.

  • Experience with injection molding and/or die-cast components is highly preferred.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement inspection standards and quality plans.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced launch environment.

  • Candidate must live within 1 hour of Holland, MI (preferred) or be willing to commute up to 2–3 hours as needed.
