Stratosphere Quality is seeking a Launch Quality Engineer (QE) to support a long-term program launch in Holland, Michigan.
This contract role (1.5–2 years) will play a critical part in managing supplier PPAPs, developing quality standards, and supporting the launch containment process to ensure a flawless execution of the product launch scheduled for Summer/Fall 2027.
Lead and manage Supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities for approximately 120 new tools (majority injection mold, some die-cast).
Partner with internal and supplier quality teams to establish quality criteria, specifications, and inspection standards.
Plan, execute, and analyze launch containment inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with customer and industry quality requirements.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier and internal non-conformances.
Provide technical guidance to ensure supplier readiness and on-time delivery of PPAP submissions.
Maintain detailed records and communication throughout all launch phases.
Collaborate cross-functionally with suppliers, design, manufacturing, and project leadership teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in automotive, furniture, or manufacturing environments.
Strong working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and control plans.
Experience with injection molding and/or die-cast components is highly preferred.
Proven ability to develop and implement inspection standards and quality plans.
Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced launch environment.
Candidate must live within 1 hour of Holland, MI (preferred) or be willing to commute up to 2–3 hours as needed.
