Summary of Responsibilities

Job Summary

This is a 6-month contract position based in Wisconsin. The role involves providing technical support and guidance to a small team of inspectors, ensuring accurate evaluation of products using metrology tools and software. The primary responsibilities include operating and troubleshooting Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), utilizing PolyWorks software, and working with standard metrology hand tools. This resource will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet required specifications and assist with problem-solving and inspection processes. Proficiency in CMM operation, PolyWorks, and metrology tools is essential.

Pay Rate: $30-$40 per hour

1st shift hours 7am-3:30pm

 

 

Essential Job Function

  • Provide technical support to the dimensional inspection team.
  • Oversee and perform dimensional inspections using CMMs, PolyWorks software, and standard metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators.
  • Assist with measurement setups, troubleshooting equipment issues, and optimizing inspection methods.
  • Train and mentor inspectors on metrology techniques, measurement best practices, and software applications.
  • Communicate inspection findings, non-conformances, and recommendations effectively to other supporting teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in dimensional inspection processes.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in dimensional inspection, metrology, or quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in operating CMMs and using PolyWorks software.
  • Strong knowledge of metrology principles, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with a variety of standard hand measurement tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot inspection issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train and mentor others effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
